Who we are

This website is operated by Lanyards Trader Ltd (company number 09614643), trading as Personalised Lanyards UK, 37 Lonsdale Close, London, SE9 4HF, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about your data at sales@personalisedlanyards.co, on 0333 090 5134, or by post at the address above.

What we collect

  • Quote requests and contact messages: your name, email, phone number, company, the products, options and quantity you choose, your message and any artwork files you upload.
  • Online orders: the same details plus your billing and delivery address. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical information: the page you sent a form from, your IP address and browser type. We use these to stop spam and abuse.
  • Analytics and advertising (only if you accept cookies): how you use the site and whether you arrived from one of our Google ads.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To answer enquiries, prepare quotes and proofs, and supply your order — to take steps at your request before a contract, and to perform the contract.
  • To keep accounting and tax records — to meet our legal obligations.
  • To protect the website against spam, fraud and attacks, including fake clicks on our ads — our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
  • To measure visits and the results of our ads — your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
  • To tell existing customers about similar products and offers — our legitimate interest. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe, and we won’t send marketing to anyone who asks us not to. We never sell your data.

Who we share it with

We only share what each provider needs to do their job:

  • Stripe — to take payment for online orders (Stripe privacy policy).
  • Google — Google Analytics and Google Ads, only if you accept cookies; and Google Fonts, which delivers the fonts used on this site and receives your IP address when a page loads (Google privacy policy).
  • ClickTrap — checks visits that arrive from our paid ads for click fraud, using technical details of your browser and device (including FingerprintJS). We use this because of our legitimate interest in not paying for fake ad clicks.
  • Delivery companies — to deliver your order.
  • Our customer feedback provider (trustedshops.co.uk) — to ask you to review your order.
  • Our website hosting and email providers — who store the site, the enquiry database and our email on our behalf.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

  • Uploaded artwork is deleted automatically 24 months after it was sent.
  • Enquiry and order details are kept so we can answer questions about past quotes and repeat orders. Ask us at any time and we’ll delete them.
  • Invoices and accounting records are kept for 6 years, as required by HMRC.
  • Analytics data is kept by Google for up to 14 months.

Cookies

We use as few cookies as possible:

  • Necessary: a session cookie that keeps forms secure and keeps our staff signed in to the admin area. It is deleted when you close your browser and cannot be switched off.
  • Your cookie choice: stored in your browser so we don’t ask you again.
  • Ad click checks: when you arrive from one of our ads, ClickTrap stores a short-lived note in your browser for that visit (deleted when you close the tab) and reads technical details of your device to spot fraudulent clicks.
  • Analytics and advertising (optional): Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) and Google Ads (_gcl_*) cookies. These are only set after you click “Accept”, and last up to 2 years. If you click “Reject”, Google receives no cookies from this site.

You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to us using it for marketing or for our legitimate interests, and withdraw your consent to cookies at any time. Email sales@personalisedlanyards.co and we’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

The website uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. Uploaded files are stored outside the public part of the website and can only be opened by signed-in staff. Card payments are processed by Stripe and never pass through our server.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if the way we use your information changes, and change the date at the top.
